Low-Sodium Garlic Toast

1 slice of bread (Ezekiel bread or Nature’s Own Butter Bread) I prefer the Butter Bread but it’s higher in sodium

1 Tsp Olive Oil or not salt added butter (Garlic infused olive oil is great for this)

1 tsp of garlic powder or garlic granules

1 tsp Italian Seasoning

½ tsp Sage

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare your favorite slice of bread by placing your slice on a baking pan. I usually use foil for easy clean up.
  3. Put your oil or butter on the bread and spread an even layer on one side.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder/granules, Italian seasoning and sage evenly over the oiled surface
  5. Put your toast in the pre-heated oven until bottom is browned, about 5 minutes. I like to use the broiler setting to brown the top as well. This only takes about 2-3 minutes. Keep a close eye on it so it doesn’t burn.
